La presa de Santa Fe (The Santa Fe dam), Montseny, Catalonia, Spain
In the midst of wooded Montseny lays the river Sió, mining companies once capitalised on the rivers flow by harnessing the energy in a hydraulic system. The mines now lay in disuse and the waters that once harboured crayfish and such have since been polluted by other less responsible industries. Leaving a reservoir of contaminated water, rotting leaves and the occasional bubble of methane.
